Benzac AC is a topical acne treatment containing Benzoyl Peroxide and Clindamycin. It is used to treat mild to moderate acne by reducing bacteria, unclogging pores, and decreasing inflammation.

Mechanism of action:

• Benzoyl Peroxide works by killing acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) and helping to remove dead skin cells that clog pores.

• Clindamycin is an antibiotic that reduces bacterial growth and inflammation in the skin, preventing new acne lesions.

Uses:

• Acne vulgaris (pimples, blackheads, whiteheads)

• Helps reduce inflammation, redness, and bacterial infection associated with acne

Adverse effects:
Common side effects include mild dryness, redness, peeling, or burning sensation at the application site. Rarely, allergic reactions like rash or itching may occur. Overuse can cause excessive skin irritation.
