Biluma contains Tranexamic Acid, a topical cream used to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation on the skin. It helps reduce melanin production, improving uneven skin tone and brightening areas affected by pigmentation.

Mechanism of action:
Tranexamic acid works by inhibiting plasminogen activation, which in turn reduces the release of inflammatory mediators that stimulate melanin production. This helps prevent excessive pigmentation caused by sun exposure, acne scars, or hormonal changes.

Uses:

• Melasma (dark patches on the face)

• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots after acne or skin injury)

• Uneven skin tone or pigmentation caused by sun exposure

Adverse effects:
Common side effects include mild redness, itching, or burning at the application site. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur. It is generally well tolerated when used as directed.
