Paclitaxel works by inhibiting cell division, leading to cancer cell death. It is usually administered as part of combination chemotherapy regimens.

Mechanism of Action

• Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules in the cell, preventing their normal breakdown during mitosis.

• This arrests the cell cycle at the G2/M phase, preventing cancer cells from dividing.

• Ultimately, it induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) in rapidly dividing tumor cells.
