Refinlar contains Dabrafenib, which is a targeted cancer medicine. It belongs to a group of drugs called BRAF inhibitors. It is used to treat cancers that have a specific gene change called BRAF V600 mutation.
Mechanism
Some cancers grow because of changes (mutations) in the BRAF gene, which makes cancer cells grow uncontrollably. Dabrafenib blocks the abnormal BRAF protein, which slows down or stops the growth of cancer cells.
