Abiranamo contains Abiraterone Acetate, an oral androgen biosynthesis inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of prostate cancer, particularly metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It works by reducing the production of testosterone and other androgens, which fuel the growth of prostate cancer cells. It is usually taken in combination with prednisone to manage side effects.

Mechanism of Action

• Abiraterone Acetate selectively inhibits CYP17 enzyme, which is critical for androgen biosynthesis in the adrenal glands, testes, and tumor tissue.

• By blocking androgen production, it reduces the stimulation of androgen receptors on prostate cancer cells.
