Duovir-N is a combination HIV medicine.
It contains two drugs in one tablet:
-
Lamivudine (3TC)
-
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF)
It is usually used with another HIV medicine (like an integrase inhibitor or NNRTI) as part of a complete treatment.
Mechanism
-
Both Lamivudine and Tenofovir block the HIV enzyme reverse transcriptase, which the virus needs to make copies of itself.
-
This stops the virus from multiplying.
-
As a result, the HIV level in the blood decreases, and the immune system becomes stronger.
Uses
-
