Erlamide contains Enzalutamide, a medicine used to treat prostate cancer. It works by blocking the action of male hormones (androgens) that make prostate cancer grow.

Mechanism 

• Prostate cancer cells need androgens (like testosterone) to grow.

• Erlamide blocks the androgen receptor on the cancer cells.

• This stops androgens from attaching and sending growth signals.

• As a result, cancer cells slow down or die.

  Uses

  • Treatment of advanced or metastatic prostate cancer.

  • Used in both cases: when cancer has spread and when it does not respond to other hormone therapies.

    Adverse Effects 

    Common side effects:

    • Weakness and tiredness

    • Hot flashes

    • High blood pressure

    • Headache

    • Back pain, joint pain

    • Loss of appetite, weight loss
