Mechanism
Ribavirin works by interfering with the virus’s ability to make genetic material (RNA). This reduces the virus’s ability to multiply and spread in the body.

Uses

• Chronic hepatitis C infection (always combined with other antiviral medicines like interferons or direct-acting antivirals).

• Severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection (rare, usually in children or hospitalized patients).
