Taffic contains Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF), a medicine used to treat HIV infection.
It is often used in combination with other antiretroviral medicines as part of HIV treatment.
Mechanism
-
HIV needs an enzyme called reverse transcriptase to make copies of itself.
-
Taffic (TAF) blocks this enzyme.
-
This stops the virus from multiplying.
-
As a result, the HIV level in the blood goes down, and the immune system becomes stronger.
Uses
-
Treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents (always combined with other HIV medicines).
-
Sometimes used for chronic hepatitis B infection, if prescribed by a doctor.
