Vorier contains Voriconazole, which is a broad-spectrum antifungal medicine.
It is used to treat serious fungal infections, especially in people with weak immune systems.
Mechanism
-
Fungi need a substance called ergosterol to build their cell membrane.
-
Voriconazole blocks the enzyme (CYP450–dependent) that makes ergosterol.
-
Without ergosterol, the fungal cell membrane becomes weak → fungus cannot grow and dies.
Uses
-
Aspergillosis (lung infection caused by Aspergillus)
-
Candidemia (Candida infection in blood)
-
Serious infections caused by Fusarium or Scedosporium
-
Used in immunocompromised patients (like those with cancer, transplant, or HIV)
